THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT

Man has shades of grey. It's soul has a greedy side, where desires are plenty and the eagerness to fulfill those aspirations is massive! The hungry inside of the human yearns for fascinating things, and this hunger is endless.
no matter if the fruit is forbidden, the eagerness of engulfing never dies. even if we know that it should not be obtained by us, the appealing attraction is so huge that our desire pulls us to it.
And this appetite is not new. This is a part of human nature, a part of our existence and has been in us since the time of Adam and Eve.

"Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die"
It was a direct command by Him.
He clearly forbidden-ed Adam form laying his hands on it.
They willfully committed the sin, it was a direct disrespect to God. but despite the fact they could not overcome their lust. their was no shortage of food. He gave them the consent to exploit all the trees of the garden except one. Yet, they could not content themselves. They disobeyed Him for a single fruit!

there is always an inquisitive side of us that asks us, " why? why out of everything, that thing is forbidden. it must be something better. find out!"
and within no time we find ourselves strangely attracted towards it!

everybody knows smoking is injurious, but today many teenagers are exposed to it! why? they do it themselves. its their forbidden fruit! forbidden by parents but urged by desires.
many married people have extra-marital affairs even though they know they are deceiving their spouse. they choose to do this sin because its their lust for the forbidden fruit.

Can we hold us back? is our will stronger than our desires ? NO. we easily get swayed in the moment.
I have still not been successful in penning down a solution....

"the forbidden fruit unleashes our greed and our lust
compels us to willfully commit a sin
its paves the path to doom!"

AMIDST THE GLITZ

Today, the world around us work on the basics of POMP and SHOW.
everybody wants to possess things that can awe anyone and everyone. Utility and price don't matter unless it is a boost to their status and gives them a reason to show-off.
the basic necessities of life- food, clothes and a roof have been upgraded to five course meal, branded clothes and a penthouse! quite simple marriage ceremonies are now great fat Indian weddings and telephone is now I-phone.
if you are not clad in expensive clothes, you will be bitched about. everyone wishes to own an Armani. Blackberry is a status symbol. If you organize a party it has to posh otherwise your guest attendance in the next one would be zero!
even our idols believe in advertising their moolah.
Mayawati spent seven hundred crore on a good for nothing green park just to immortalize herself.  No star ever repeats their clothes, worn once, thrown forever!
Lalu Prasad Yadav, spent a hundred crore for his daughter's wedding.
Even festivals have become a forum to brag about things. the one who has a larger Christmas tree is more respectable !
you can't change the world or the people in it but you can surely keep yourself grounded.
life has just become a rat race to attain a prestigious position in the society. but during this race, we fail to fill our pockets with love and mesmerizing experiences, afterall our mind and heart are busy putting up plans.
Simplicity can simplify things and make life easier. showing-off can earn you incredibly flattering praises but in the long run you will be accompanied by the same kind of self centered people!
Being modest, in today's scenario is not easy and one eventually you develop feathers but we shall try to change ourselves.
bring back the true essence of festivals, get togethers, modesty and the real meaning of life!

"Yes i did chase the glitz, yes i did flaunt and brag about my riches
but what did i got in return?
a hollow soul ! "

COLLECTING YOUR JARS OF HEARTS

my take on JAR OF HEARTS has nothing to do with Christina's song ( actually is just the opposite)

Life is a difficult path that has a huge stock of hardships and obstacles for the traveler.
at every step difficulties come up with the objective to break you down. But to survive the waves He gave us a jar, that lies within us. A jar, where we can store love, which will keep you going even in the most difficult phases of life. whenever we feel scared to step ahead those hearts in the jar shout out loud-" we trust you, we have invested our love and faith in you, we know you can do it, we are with you"
it gives us a push and provides us with the courage to overcome the hurdles.
the immense trust of our loved ones is always a force that never lets us give up and face challenges.
We ourselves might not be strong but the those hearts attached to us solidify the little courage inside us.
at times of emotional crises, everyone wants someone to pour their hearts to! at such times the owner of those hearts are bankable because they gave us a part of them. human, being as social animal cannot survive alone and at all moments of life you need someone you can relay upon. just take out you jar of hearts and the thought that so many people love you can take you miles ahead.
But how do you fill that empty jar He gave you? do we have a market that sells hearts?
during the journey of life, we come across people who are willing to give and take love.
identify them, be courteous to all and walk ahead only after gifting them the flowers with the fragrance of love, respect and trust. dispose off your ego, hatred and selfishness.
loving everyone in life is not possible but not hatting anyone of them is easy.
If at any moment you feel lonely, you jar of hearts is not filled. You did something wrong during your journey. take the next step ahead only after you corrected yourself.
its never too late to collect hearts.  just the will to share love can help.
those who take their own lives could never identify the jar inside them which was always empty. those who wish to live with others, for others have filled their jars and have given their pieces of heat to others.

life can be beautiful, in fact it is, just make sure your jar of hearts is always full and this can happen only if you have the will to make someone else's life beautiful

THE GENERATION GAP

I have seen children fighting with their parents, arguing with them and at times going mad at them.
Yes, even I have had some mad moments with my parents.  Culprit: generation gap
Times are changing, and naturally the successive generations are more advanced, modern and open. they desire freedom at a much younger age and obviously rebel if they are not.
If we don't get the permission to go party with our friends, or don't get the phone our friend has, we think they don't love us! We get scolded, we stop talking to them. WHY?

Our parents have spent so many years of their lives to bring us up and even now they wish to take care of us till they breathe their last! Yes. I agree they are ' old fashioned' and our opinions and thoughts don't match their's. But we cant make them 'modern' in a day! They accepted us the way we are, so why can't we accept them?
If clashes happen we ought to control our tongues. The one-sided arguments and fire spatting does hurt them, which they don't show! They hold themselves back so that they we don't  feel bad!  We should realise that they want us to become responsible.
After a heated fight, we may stop obeying them but do our mothers stop giving us food?
Our grand parents- I know we have zero mutual topics to discuss and they are unaware of most of the things we talk about. But how much effort does it take to keep our phones and facebook accounts aside and talk to them for at least ten minutes everyday.
The generation gap is something that we can't cover, neither can they, so why not just construct a connecting bridge in between and share love?

Don't forget that we are who we are because they nurtured us. Don't ever let them feel deprived of the love they deserve just because of 'the generation gap'.

SOLITUDE

SOLITUDE- a misconceptionised word often said to be the synonym of loneliness and grief.
But these words, if seen carefully are poles apart, supporting entirely different feelings.
solitude is a beautiful word that links you with your inner-self.
you cannot expect to be surrounded with people all the time and you ought to have an appointment with yourself.
it helps you to explore what lies within you and discover the endless new potentials in you.
I believe, we ourselves are the best audience we can hope to lay down our thoughts and feelings to.
This can only happen when we are solitary and have us to ourselves.
It is only in solitude that we can collect our thoughts, plan our tasks , rekindle our memories and formulate new ideas!
when alone, we can reflect on our mistakes openly, we have no fear of getting criticized for the only one listing to us is ourselves alone.
It gives us a chance to improve and reform.
if  we forgive ourselves for the mistakes we make, accept them as a part of ourselves and reassure our conscience then only we can turn over a new leaf.
it is very easy to tear a pillow into feathers but it is very difficult to close our eyes and find the cause and solution for the anger
being in a crowd always, close your senses and reduces your ability to think but during our date with our inner selves does increase the love between our mind and soul. and yes, frequent dates do improves relationships!

taking out time for ourselves is a need, which at times go unnoticed.
realise this need,  and give time to yourself

"others inspire us. information feeds us, practice improves our performance
but we need quiet time to figure things out, to emerge with new discoveries, to unearth original answers"

BORN TO SURVIVE

You can't expect life to be as smooth as butter, after all difficulties are the spice of life and aren't we all born to survive?
the foundation of this word ' survival' it self stands on obstacles and obstructions. the presence of difficulties insure a good fight for survival.
Life is the greatest endowment by God and we ought to live it to the fullest savoring even the toughest of times. And for that survival is the key.
The river makes out it's way through the hills that might be thick or thin, it breaks the rocks that come in it's way and flows over the uneven path to complete it's journey.
As a child when I used to hear about suicides I was left shocked, maybe because I was not aware of the dark truths of life. But as I grew up the word survival got a whole new meaning for me. I realise that there are a number of things you have to fight with to achieve the things you are fighting for.
no matter how rough the phase of life is, a need to survive shall be there. there has to be something you should survive for- it could be the family, the loved ones or some aim that still needs to be accomplished. there is someone or something that guides you through. Survival has different perspectives for different people. a person might see it as a fight against wrong doers of every kind or fight an ailment. To achieve a long yearned dream or t nurture a dwindling hope.
"sweet my child, I live for thee."
this line from the poem- " Home They Brought Her Warrior Dead" by Alfred Tennyson clearly paints the picture of a widow who survived for her child. the consequences of the game of life might be uncertain but survival till the end surely brings loads of experiences and we step out as a stronger person.
a smile on the face and hope in heart makes survival a load more easier. try to enjoy the challenges life throws to you, I am sure survival would become a ride in an amusement park and life would become something to live for

JOYS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES

C
lose your eyes and recall the moment that held the most joy for you. I am sure one will think of a moment when someone's smallest gesture went straight to your heart. It could be a smile from a stranger when you were lost in the crowd or an old friend calling you from a distinct land calling you just to say-" I miss you." It might be your mother's tender touch on your forehead when you were unable to sleep, a friend asking you what happened when you thought no one noticed your tears or a single hand on your shoulder when you thought the world was against you!

You might not realize the magnitude of joy these little things give you but when time is bad, these are the memories that pull you through.
A lavish dinner at a five star hotel might not be able to register itself in your list of sweet memories but sharing a ten rupee chocolate with friends becomes an evergreen memory. You may buy a luxurious car for yourself but the moment becomes worth a tear when your father gives you the keys of a bike he bought for you. materialistic things might make you jump with joy for a moment but what gives you long term happiness are the little-little things done by someone just for you. We may not be able to recollect the gift given to us by our friend on our birthday but we can surely recall when he last saves a seat for you, just because he wanted to sit with you.

Things like this make us feel special. If we realize the importance of these small moments life will become something to live for! Its time we make life a movie where joys in little jars is the essence to enjoy and make them special so that later on in life we have stories to tell our grandparents with the moral :

                              JOYS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES!
